Tailoring and You

O I’m in love…. Just yesterday I was wondering what patterns I didn’t have and how I could possibly track them all. In comes some good ol’ web surfing and I find this on TenTonHammer:

Tailoring Guide

The profession of Tailoring is a primary trade skill in the World of Warcraft. When choosing Tailoring as a primary skill, make sure you really want it, as you may only have two skills at once. Tailoring does not require a gathering skill so you are free to select any other primary profession that you would like.

What items do tailors produce?

Tailors produce a variety of cloth armor and goods such as bags to increase a character’s storage capacity.

Is there a complete list of Tailoring items?

YES! TenTonHammer has produced a complete list of Tailoring items that can be found here in html format.

Who uses Tailoring?

Cloth wearing classes mainly use tailoring to make their own armor. The classes that use cloth only are: Mages, Priests and Warlocks. Other classes may choose to be tailors to produce bags and other items to make a profit.

Why should I be a tailor?

You should be a tailor if you would like to make your own armor instead of buying it. You can also use tailoring to supply your friends with bags or for profit on the auction house. Many of the high level tailoring patterns (such as the mooncloth patterns) are very good for the level and can be relatively easily produced.

What other skills go well with Tailoring?

Tailoring does not require a gathering skill so you are free to select any other primary profession that you would like. Many like to pair tailoring with enchanting and this is probably the most common pairing. Be careful though as enchanting is very expensive to level, many take tailoring with it as tailoring is relatively cheap. Another common pairing is skinning or mining as it is a relatively good money making profession, you can gather resources and resell them. None of the other primary professions are a good match since they work best as pairs unless you want to spend large amounts of gold to buy the ingredients required.

TenTonHammer’s is at it again and trying to make Paladin’s lives everywhere better!

With the release of patch 1.9 the Paladins have undergone a large change. Part of the change is redone talent trees and a complete refund of talent points.

Not sure what to do with your talent points now that you get a chance to start over for free?

Check out our Paladin guide for all new 1.9 builds. The guide can be found here: TenTonHammers Paladin Guide.

A guildie pointed out this site on our forums and I thought I would pass the wealth. I copied it and pasted it exactly as it appears on their forum. Thanks for the awesome write-up guys!

Instance
Blackwing Lair

Location
There are two entrances to Blackwing Lair, but due to the way instance player caps work, when raiding with the Leftovers you will always be entering Blackwing Lair from one and not the other. The first entrance you will encounter is located within the (Upper) Blackrock Spire instance, just beyond the Stadium where you fight Warlord Rend Blackhand and first meet Victor Nefarius. As you leave the Stadium and turn right on your way to the Spire Throne where General Drakkisath can be found, the green raid instance portal will be visible to your left.

The second entrance, and the one you will be using while raiding with the Leftovers, is special. It is only available once you have completed the appropriate quest, and only while you are already in a raid group. This entrance is located within Blackrock Mountain, near the balcony entrance to Blackrock Spire but opposite it down the curving corridor leading to the Scarshield Quartermaster. In the small room where the Quartermaster may be found at the southern end of this corridor, you will find an orb on a pedastal. If you have completed the necessary quest, and are currently in a raid group, then you may place your hand on (use) this orb to portal directly into Blackwing Lair. If you ever zone out of Blackwing Lair, you will reappear on the balcony in front of the entrance to Blackrock Spire, at the northern end of this corridor.

Because a maximum of 15 people from a single raid group can zone into the Blackrock Spire instance at any one time, the first entrance to Blackwing Lair will not be a reasonable way to enter when you are raiding with the Leftovers. Not to mention the additional time and effort wasted by clearing the intervening portions of Blackrock Spire to get to the portal. Instead, the alternate, “attuned” portal will be used exclusively.

How to Gain Entry
To be able to raid with the Leftovers in Blackwing Lair, you need to have finished the quest Blackhand’s Command, which when completed will allow you to use the alternate “attuned” portal mentioned above.

Quickest way to get your very own dreadsteed.

Comprehensive materials list:
35 Black Dragonscale
25 Dark Iron Ore
6 Large Brilliant Shard
10 Elixir of Shadow Power
3 Arcanite Bar
406 Gold
Walkthrough:

Talk to trainer in Org or UC to get sent to the Altar of Storms in the Burning Steppes. There you will be given 2 quests. To speak to Lord Banehollow in Jaedanar and to get 30 raging beast’s blood from owlbeasts in Winterspring.

1) Banehollow – He is at the very back of Shadow Hold. Make sure to buy a stack of potions before you leave the altar of storms to make jadenar friendly to you. Head to the very back of shadow hold and banehollow will give you a simple quest to kill a level 58 who also brings a couple level 58 adds. Do it with a buddy or any other nearby warlocks and you’ll be fine. Return to Jaedenar and he will sell you the stardust you need for a mere 150g.

2) Owlbeasts – Go to Winterspring and kill -any- owlbeast for the blood. Drop rate is about 30-40% near as I can figure.

Return to the Altar of Storms in BS to get another series of quests. This is where you will need all the materials listed above.

Your next quest sends you to Scholomance. You must reach the Alchemy Lab in the room with Ras Frostwhisper in a 5 man group. This took us a couple hours and was by far the most annoying/tedious part of the quest, but those of you used to 5 manning scholo shouldnt have a problem. If you’re really in a hurry you only need to clear the patrols and the first group of mobs on the right to be able to sneak in and release your imp near the tables and get credit.

Once again you will return to the Altar in Burning Steppes where you will have to buy 3 more items for 150g, 50g, and 50g. One of the items starts the quest, one of the items is used during the initial part of the Dire Maul event and one is used to summon the dreadsteed. Doesnt really matter which is which, cuz you need em all.

Warlock Mount

Head to the west wing of Dire Maul and proceed to clear the pylons and open the way to Immol’thar. Kill the big dog then med up and activate your jar that starts the quest. The Imp will set up a wheel, candle and bell. Do not start this event without at least 15 soulshards in your inventory as you will need to use many during the battle.

During the battle, the candle will deal damage to all enemies within the ring, the wheel will reduce damage taken by your group inside the ring and the bell will heal people inside the ring constantly. You, as the warlock, must keep all 3 of these working. When you see one stop working you can fix it by moving to it and right clicking it which will also expend a soulshard. If you run out of shards it is game over.

Rogue Loot List

This loot list is dedicated for helping you gear up your warrior/rogue as best as possible. This list includes all loot up to, but not including, the current (1.6) end-game content (Molten Core, Onxyia, ect…). Have fun!

http://www.geocities.com/nebk316/RLL/Rogue_Loot_List_v1.html

I must be behind the times or something. I found a text file of WoW easter eggs and started reading some of them off to Babba and he was like “o yea I know”.

For the rest of you as lost as I am (and I pity us both at times) here are a couple that I pulled out:

  • Name: Free Chicken
    Location: Chicken
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: If you go find a chicken, target it and use the /chicken emote at it. Eventually it’ll say “The chicken looks up at you curiously, maybe you should inspect it?”, if you right click on it it should give you a special quest for a free pet chicken. You’ll have to find an NPC that sells chicken feed. There is one particuarly in Westfall, the farm just south of Sentinel Hill, there’s an NPC who sells the chicken feed. After, go back to the chicken and use the /cheer emote on it, give it the feed and it’ll lay an egg. Click on the egg and it’ll turn into a chicken!
Note: I tested this and it takes a bit of patience to work right.

  • Name: Head Toss
    Location: Universal
    Coordinates: ?
Easter Egg: When idle for a while, various undead skeletons whil toss their head off, catch it and then stick it back on. A refrence to the old, “The Secret of Monkey Island” where an undead pirate captain had a first mate named “Bob” who’s head would launch into the air and land back on his neck.
Contributor: Vex of ? & Dervisch of Eredar
  • Name: Hail To The King
Location: Blackrock Depths?? or Blackfathom Depths?
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: If the Emperor in BRD??/BFD?? kills a player he shouts, “Hail To The King Baby!” This is a reference to the movie, Army of Darkness.
    Contributor: Setis & “Nick”
  • Name: Shapeshifting Prisoner
    Location: Undercity – Apothecary
    Coordinates: ?
Easter Egg: There’s a room with a bunch of prisoners in it near the Apothecary. Next to one of the cages is an alchemist who hands a potion to one of the prisoners. The man gets turned into a frog, squirrel, rabbit and a sheep. When he turns him into a sheep, he pokes it and the sheep explodes. A refrence to Warcraft II and III where if you clicked on Sheep and other critters enough, they would engluf in a fireball and explode!
Contributor: Painweaver of Shadow Moon Azreal of Ronin Redeemed
  • Name: Fight Club
    Location: Undercity – Warrior Quarter
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: In the Warrior quarter of Undercity there’s a bunch of undead who fight various Scourge, with names similar to that of “Fight Club”.
    Contributor: Grundulate of Illidan
  • Name: Alterac Valley’s Top Gun
Location: Alterac Mountains – Alterac Valley
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: All the Wing Commanders in Alterac Valley have names of Pilot’s Callsigns from Top Gun.
  • Name: Mermaid
    Location: IF-SW; Deeprun Tram
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: If you look out in the water near some sunken ships, you can see a Naga named Little Mermaid, an obvious referance to Disney’s animated movie.
    Contributor: CyberGamer
  • Name: Blizzard Employees
    Location: Stormwind City
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: A teacher walks around town with a bunch of kids, all of whome have names of Blizzard Employees.
    Contributor: Thanasis of Kel’Thuzad
  • Name: Loyd
Location: Burning Steppes – Blackrock Spire
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: An architecht named Forgewright designed Blackrock Spire, this is a take off of the famous architech Frank Loyd Wright who designed many skyscrapers.
    Contributor: Ikefu of Thunderhorn
  • Name: He’s Back
    Location: Westfall – Moonshire Inn
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: There’s a jar on the table in the inn with an arm in it that supposedly resembles Terminator 2 arm.
    Contributor: Fuuma of Hellscream
  • Name: Screaming
    Location: Duskwood – Darkshire
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: One of the Blacksmiths in Darkshire talks about how the wind sounds like lambs screaming, a refrence to “The Silence of the Lambs”, enforcing this more, her name is Clarice.
    Contributor: Verdandi of Aggramar

I could add tons and tons more but if you want to see the rest, check it out yourself. Go to the in-depths section –> easter eggs faq.

* Go to Dire Maul. (Its in Feralas, west of Camp Mojache… you’ll know when you see a bunch of 40+ elite ogres.)

* Don’t forget your keys to get in or a friendly rogue with high lock picking skills.

* The Athenaeum (library) is reachable solo thru the north wing instance. When you enter this instance, wait for the ogre patrol to walk to the right, and make a run for the ramp that goes downwards. Jump onto the “ramp ledge” and hop down to the left and hug the left wall. You will reach The Athenaeum.

* Alternatively, you can fight with a group thru the western wing to the inner circle prison where the second entrance to The Athenaeum is.
