There are two seasonal fish that we know of Summer Bass and Winter Squid and when cooked both have bonuses to their health benefits.

Summer Bass only caught in the summer months can be cooked into Hot Smoked Bass and gives a +10 boost to spirit for 10 minutes.

Winter Squid can be cooked into Grilled Squid gives +10 to Agility for 10 minutes so particularly handy for Rogues.

The time of day can also affect what you fish, for example, in an area you would fish Nightfin Snapper at night time, you will catch Sunscale Salmon in its place during the day.

Even in game fish are ruled by the time table (seasonal fishing only)
6am-12pm = average drop rate
12pm-6pm = BEST TIME!!!
6pm-12am = average drop rate
12am-6am = below average drop rate

When will the good times end?
The seasonal cutoff for Squid/Bass is the Spring and Autumn equinox. At least it was last year.

Things you should know before choosing to become a Miner:

If your primary profession is either Blacksmithing or Engineering, Mining is practically a prerequisite. Both professions require materials that can only be acquired through Mining. You could choose to not take up Mining as your second profession, but consequently you’ll have to spend an inpractical amount of money on the materials you need to raise your Blacksmithing and Engineering.

Mining is a great way to make money compared to some other professions. Unless you intend to take up Leatherworking, Mining is a good profession to consider. The only way to make large amounts of money through mining is by selling Arcane Crystals and Blood of the Mountain in the Auction House. Both items are extremely rare, however, and you shouldn’t become a miner solely to farm them.

Enchantrix is an addon that provides your tooltips with additional information on the elements and quantities that a particular item will disenchant into. This plugin is primarily for enchanters to see whether they should buy an item based upon what it will disenchant to.

Mathredis Firestar in Flame Crest — Burning Steppes
As some players know Head / Legs armor gears are some of the items that can not be enchanted by players, but only by using Librams.

There is a Blood Elf NPC at the Burning Steppes (near Flight Path) who can do these enchantments. He will talk to you when you bring to him any of the Librams. To create the enchant for you he will request you to bring some items and 15-35 gold.

There are 8 different Librams that drop from random Caster mobs in Blasted Lands, Searing Gorge, Blood Elves in eastern Azshara, Satyrs in Felwood (Jaedenar), Blackrock Depths mobs, and basically, any caster in the world has a small percentage chance to drop a Libram. You will notice the blue exclamation sign on his head.

This is a repetitive quest, and you can enchant as many Head or Leg items as you wish for as long as you bring a new Libram and more required items. The Librams accepted by the Blood Elf, northeast of Burning Steppes, are:

Enchant: +20% Fire Resistance

Requires:
- 1 Black Diamond (dropped @ BRD)
- 4 Crystal Spire (formed @ un’goro by 10 yellow/10 blue power crystals @ east pylon – bop)
- 1 Burning Essence (dropped @ BRD – Dark Coffer – bop)

[item]Libram of Voracity[/item]
Price: 35 gold
Enchant: You can choose either +8 stamina (80 hp / 92 hp(warlock)), +8 intellect (120 mana) , +8 strength, +8 agility or +8 spirit

Requires:
- 1 Black Diamond (dropped @ BRD)
- 4 Crystal Force (formed @ un’goro by 10 Green & 10 Blue Crystals at the Eastern Pylon)
- 4 Whipper Root Tuber (Quest by – Silversky in Felwood- need 4 Cenarion Plant Salve – Then you need to cure the Corrupted Whipper Root – bop)

[item]Libram of Constitution[/item]
Price: 35 gold
Enchant: +100 hp

Requires:
- 1 Black Diamond (dropped @ BRD)
- 4 Night Dragon’s Breath (Quest by Silversky in Felwood – need 4 Cenarion Plant Salve – Then you need to cure the Corrupted Night Dragon – bop)
- 1 Lung Juice Cocktail (Quest reward from Spirit of the Boar and A Boar’s Vitality Quests at Blasted Lands)

Price: 18 gold
Enchant: +1% Dodge

Requires:
- 1 Frayed Abomination Stitching ( Stratholme – Venom Belcher Abominations / Ramstein)
- 2 Large Brilliant Shard
- 1 Pristine Black Diamond (dropped @ UBRS / LBRS)

[item]Libram of Focus[/item]
Price: 15 gold
Enchant: +8 Magic (Healing and Damage from spells)

Requires:
- 1 Pristine Black Diamond (dropped @ UBRS / LBRS)
- 4 Large Brilliant Shard
- 2 Skin of Shadow (Scholomance – @ ground past the Viewing Room, near Mini-Bosses)

[item]Libram of Rapidity[/item]
Price: 20 gold
Enchant: +1% Haste (not for magic)

Requires:
- 1 Pristine Black Diamond (dropped @ UBRS / LBRS)
- 2 Large Brilliant Shard
- 2 Blood of Heroes (Eastern Plaguelands – They look like a White fried egg with a red spot in the center. Found on the ground , random spawn anywhere in Eastern Plaguelands, sometimes in Caer Darrow or near Hearthglen in Western Plaguelands, it has a little surprise when opened … Two overpowered Heroe ghosts spawn to fight you. They have a knock back/ stun. Bring help.)

Price: 10 gold
Enchant: +125 Armor

Requires:
- 1 Black Diamond (dropped by Golems@ BRD)
- 4 Crystal Ward (10 red and 10 green crystals at Western Pylon in Un’Goro Crater)
- 1 Eye of Kajal (dropped @ BRD – Dark Coffer – bop)

[item]Libram of Rumination[/item]
Price: 30 gold
Enchant: +150 mana

Requires:
- 1 Black Diamond (drops from Golems @ Blackrock Depths)
- 1 Gizzard Gum (Quest Vulture’s Vigor or Spiritual Domination from Blood Elf Lynnore in Blasted Lands)
- 1 Black Blood of the Tormented (dropped @ BRD – Dark Coffer – bop)

Be sure to check the AH for librams, diamonds and shards!

Ok…I’m a farmer now. I’ve been out to the Steppes twice and am trying to get the [item]Pattern: Cindercloth cloak[/item] but the drop rate is like 1%.

Of course it would be nice if they put more of the little buggers (Thaurissian Firewalker, levels 54 and 53) that drop it out there. Yea, blah blah blah it’s the beginning of a high-end cloak but you need the Onyxia scale first. Help a poor farma out would ya The more times I killed the Firewalkers the less they seemed to respawn, so it took a really boring experience and turned it into excruciating. I was in the Steppes for 2 hours last night before I gave up. I’ll keep trying but geez at least being a faction farmer gives you something in return. This is just painful. I did make about 5g last night but I don’t *really* need it, so that is a small consolation.
