Blizzard apparently used signed integers for their World of Warcraft gold values as some people have recently hit the limit of 2^31. “Apparently that amount is 214,748 gold, 36 silver, 48 copper. After you reach that lofty sum, you’ll no longer be able to receive money from any source in the game. While some responses to the original posts claim that this exact limit had previously been theorized to exist, there have been no reports of anyone in the game actually achieving this amount via legal means.”. I guess Blizzard didn’t expect anyone to ever get close to that much gold in game. buy cialisbuy cialisbuy levitrabuy levitrabuy propeciabuy propeciabuy somabuy somabuy levitrabuy cialisbuy propeciabuy levitrabuy somabuy cialisbuy propeciabuy levitrabuy somabuy cialisbuy levitrabuy propeciabuy soma

One thing that has always bugged me about World of Warcraft is how long it can take to make money in the game. While a few of my guildies have bought their gold, I’ve flat out refused to buy a single copper. And yes I agree that while Outland allows you to make a ton more money, everything costs a ton more! Basic inflation rules here people…

During one of my bitch-sessions about how much a freaking epic flying mount cost, one of my guildies jokingly suggested I buy one of those gold guides.

The first thing I can tell you.. you will kick yourself if you ever read these guides. I felt like the biggest idiot for not coming up with these ideas myself. It’s not cheating the game at all… its just making use of materials most players take for granted. Anyway, got my epic mount now, and a ton of twinked out alts. I currently have about 31k in my bags right now :)

Valkor’s Gold Guide
I wasn’t making 200 gold per hour as the author did, but I did hit about 160g a few times. 160g an hour! f*ck!!!! I used TitanBar to measure my performance. The cool part about the book is you can jump right in and start earning right away. You don’t have to read cover-to-cover to try some tactics, even though you’ll find it hard to put down. The other cool part of both of these great books is you can download them right away… don’t have to wait on shipping. We have a review of this book here.

Warcraft Riches
Supposedly the original make money guide. Had killer tips like the above one, and you’ll be making 160G per hour easy. I’ve been using secrets from these two to make a ton of cash now. I’ve got all my alts decked out and a few twinks. I tell ya Blizz should reduce the prices of stuff, makes the game more enjoyable to be able to afford crap.

Anyway - don’t buy gold and risk being banned, you don’t need to. Just learn some of the gajillion ways to legitimately make it and you’ll feel better about yourself, and save money in the process. And you won’t break any WoW rules (gold buying is against the rules supposedly). My personal favorite guide to making money in a legit way is Valkor’s Guide.

WoW - A Dictatorship?

Now if this headline doesn’t grab your attention I don’t know what will. Take a peek to see one person’s perspective, written up in InformationWeek, on online gaming.

Online games like World of Warcraft and Second Life are absolute dictatorships, where the whim of the companies controlling them is law. Cory Doctorow wonders if it’s possible to create a game that’s a democracy, where your in-world property is really yours. Read on…

Now this is something that never even occurred to me and I’m fairly suspicious of any way Peds can get to our kids. I feel sorry for the parents out there that are so far behind the times even this little bit of warning won’t get thru. Just goes to show how diligent we have to be and how f’ed up the #)$#(@#)@(#)$# nasty assh*les are.

Better check what guilds your kids join in the World of Warcraft. Abhorrent Taboo on the Ravenholdt server observes in the behavior of ERP (Erotic Role Play) and screen shots how admittance of the leader about he feels about minors. So far, no Blizzard Employee has made any comment about it. Do you feel safe having your child playing in this guild?

WoW Your Way to Weight Loss

Out there in RL a WoW player has been able to lose weight while playing his favorite game.

Playing World of Warcraft can cause you to lose weight without having to move from your computer, a gamer has claimed.

According to Joystiq, one of its readers, Greg, managed to lose 41lbs - nearly 3 stones - from his 274-pound frame in just three months.

Of course it was not just playing the game. Greg strapped his keyboard onto the display of his exercise bike and installed a side table to operate his mouse.

He hung his 46-inch Samsung LCD to hold his attention, using WoW from his XPS Gen 2 laptop to stop him getting bored while he biked.

Dubbing his method ‘warbiking’ Greg was able to do 100 hours of cardio biking which would have meant him dropping dead of boredom if he had not had his favourite game beside him.

Of course real biking never seems to have occurred to him because that would meant going outside, a place which is only a fable to most WoW players, despite having better graphics.

WoWVault is now offering the 90 Beta keys up for several random drawings! (You’ll see it was first mentioned earlier this week if you browse down) Read below for further info and the link to sign up:

Here we go folks… We are excited to bring you a series of sweepstakes drawings that could land your butt in the The Burning Crusade Closed Beta. We were originally going to run some form of “contest” like every other site has done, or will do. But I felt that was too limiting for the very large, and diverse, WoW community. I wanted something that will give everyone an equal chance at winning. So, we have a standard random drawing sweepstakes set up for the community to do just that. Just fill out the form and hit submit — that’s it! We will most likely pull 10 names every few days and announce them to keep this thing going for at least 2 weeks (with 90 chances to win this round!).

Enter Now!

There are a few ground rules that MUST be met in order to participate:

  • Must possess a valid retail World of Warcraft account and in good standing as of October 8, 2006.
  • The Email address submitted must match with the one used with your World of Warcraft Account.
