We ran ZG 2 nights ago for the 3rd of 4th time since it has been given a set raiding night (Tuesday). I still haven’t decided if I actually like Zul Gurub and apparently a bunch of other people in the guild haven’t either. We had to beg, borrow and steal people from the Surf and Turf Alliance. Yea, yea I know they have other things to do (real life included), other raids to go on, etc. I suspect a driving force behind it is actually the newb lvl 60s are running this and the veterans don’t want to be involved.
I know I approach it with a certain lack of enthusiasm as a veteran because we will wipe a million times, the tanks are a little insecure and unsure on pulling, etc. Don’t get me wrong I don’t mind the actual wipe itself because it is a learning experience of how and where to attack mobs and what class should be doing what, but what drives me nuts is how long it takes for us to get going again afterwards. I have never understood why we have to stand around for 10 BSin about nothing in particular before we can go again. Pally buffing does not take THAT long. I can only assume that some are trying to build their confidence back-up before we try again. At least we had enough warlocks last night for a couple of soulstones, which saved us from running back.
I guess what kills me is that everyone complains they can’t run MC (or fill in appropriate raid here) because they are “newbs” but when it comes to us giving them places to learn how to play level 60 and to get some good loot they are nowhere to be found. Why? The only thing I have managed to figure out is that they want it to be smooth sailing for them and don’t want to endure the wiping and learning how to fight the bosses, etc. BUT that is what learning your character is all about and what being a guild is all about, isn’t it?
I have to give props to everyone that showed up and kicked some butt. Alyna learned some cool tricks with the CT_Mod (like seeing when people are diseased) and Redcross finally figured out what the different flashing colors mean in CT_Mod as a healer (woot!).
