Hot DAMN! We are killing MC. Cruising right thru!!

Even after screwing around in SW waiting for people to get Cindercloth cloaks made by Aveliana signed on as Delara, so Kyjethu could turn them into Ony scale cloaks (Confused yet?) we made it to and killed Luci in 27 min, 36 sec. WOOT! New record for us.

Luci
* Tranc shot tome
* [item]Felheart gloves[/item] – Ambianceforc with a 87. And this was one of his first runs in here. Some people have all the luck ;)
* [item]Choker of Enlightenment[/item] – Trubben must have REALLY wanted it. He rolled a 100.

Magmadar
* [item]Cenarion Leggings[/item] – Moonwinna with a 15
* [item]Earthshaker[/item] – Ahnvil thought Moonwinna was onto something and won with a 15 too. geez
* [item]Striker’s Mark[/item] – Kurosawa with a 94. It’s finally your month Kuro, about time you started winning some stuff.

Molten Giant
* [item]Bracers of Might[/item] – Static 88. The butthead didn’t even want them in case the shoulders dropped. Bah! Be happy

Molten Giant 2
* [item]Nightslayer Bracers[/item] – Kyjethu with a 92

Molten Destroyer
* [item]Giantstalker Bracers[/item] – Schnitzel with a 61. Noticing a trend yet? Lots of Gianstalker stuff dropped last night.

It’s a good thing these guys dropped something. Burthona thought he was having an off night and couldn’t seem to pull the puppy without both the giant and destroyer BUT we later found out it was Blizz being stupid. The first time we basically wiped. People – really if you are in combat – stand still. Running won’t help you. Honest. Then the second time the same thing happened but we took them on (still don’t know why we didn’t try to the first time. cakeasses) and took the puppy and giant down. The destroyer was bugged bc it kept trying to kill a pally that was tanking him – even though he was DEAD and the destroyer was standing on top of him. Thanks for the patch Blizz! What the hell did you do to change the programming code for MC?!?!?!?

Gehennas
* [item]Nightslayer Gloves[/item] – passed on by everyone! Since it is BOP, we decided as an alliance that an enchanter would hold onto them until the 1.9 patch. Then we’ll DE them and get some of those nexxus crystal shards. (ain’t we ssshhhmmmmaaaattt) Rapunzel won that with a 98. Dang her; I rolled a 96. I get to be the lucky enchanter to DE it though.
* [item]Sorcerous Dagger[/item] – Garand with a 26

Garr
* [item]Gutgore Ripper[/item] – Kugnar. So much discussion ensued over this I tuned it out. It went to greed rolling and that was as far as I got.
* [item]Giantstalker Helm[/item] – Kurosawa with a 53
* [item]Fire runed Grimoire[/item] – Quisver with a 10. A 10!

Baron
* [item]Felheart Shoulder Pads[/item] – Gwadraw with a 16
* [item]Lawbringer Spaulders[/item] – Gern won with a 51. We’ll get you out of those greens yet Gerny-poo!

Lava Packs
* [item]Gianstalker’s Bracers[/item] – Bahouth

Shazz
* [item]Felheart Slippers[/item] – Babbaganoosh won with a 61. Grats honi!!
* [item]Gianstalker Gloves[/item] – Marragies with a 7. See what happens when it’s Gianstalker night? You win with a measly 7.

That wraps up our run until Sunday night where we finish it up and actually…OMGBBQ….finally are going to try Ragnaros for real.

Congrats everyone!

Well, it’s come up again, and again I’m endorsing it – creating a second MC run for all the new level 60s in our alliance and for the insane people that want to run alts through too. Frankly, I can barely stomach the place anymore. I am, GASP, actually looking forward to 1.9 so I can start questing again. Not that I really enjoy questing but because it means I can see other areas of the world than MC. It gets really boring.

Hopefully this run will replace the trash mob run on Saturday nights bc no-one is going. I’m sure some people will have difficulty letting the leadership reins go and pass them onto someone other unlucky soul that gets to track attendance, loot, etc for this run. Thank god I won’t have to do it. (one of the good things about having low level alts. lol)

Other than the issues that everyone else has brought up the only one I forsee if when someone has a hissy if the raid isn’t run EXACTLY like the regular one. Tattle-tale city.

Is it possible to create a 2nd runner that would include some Surf ‘n Turf people with experience (and maybe have most or all of their set items)?

Just a suggestion. (I like my spot presently healing the rapid tanking of burthona!! So…I am not asking to lead MC2, hehe… just throwing this out as a possibility to catch the people who are feeling left out.)

My Response:
This is something that has been toyed with off and on for the past while but it hits several snags:

1) People don’t show to the trash mob run. possible reasons: they don’t know about it so please post it in your forums/guild message that it is an ongoing thing or bc people don’t want to go if they can’t kill a boss and get loot. That is a misconception bc we all know BoE’s drop from various mobs as do fiery and lava cores.

2) Who would lead it? I’ve gone on different runs with less experienced players (new to level 60 and to raiding with each other) and thought I was going to gouge my eye out with a blunt object. We are all spoiled by the quick responses, good tanking/healing and our general play style.

3) Any “veterans” that go on these runs now have a whole new set of people to roll against. For instance, I only need my head piece for my set is complete and there are lots of other people out there in my situation.

Now, don’t get me wrong Rap I whole heartedly agree that it would be good to get another run going. Or cycling more people in and out, but the general consensus is “I’ll give my spot up if someone else wants in once I get x, y, or z (I’m included in that consensus).

Maybe if we could get an accounting of who, from each guild, would go to this run and not complain if they get locked into the 2nd run and can’t go to the “normal” run (something else that was brought up when this was suggested before) it might be doable.

Also, if we had people that would be willing to lead this group (ask Burthona and Babba about how hard it is), keeping track of loot, etc I’m sure the alliance officers might reconsider.

Not only do I think it is good to equip everyone as best as we can but it will let them see how much it sucks having to make decisions, leading 40 people, keeping them on track, etc. Maybe they’ll quit bitching so much once they realize it isn’t as easy as one might think. Ok so the sadist in me is coming out.

AND! it means people will still have a MC run to go on once we finally move on to BWL or whatever.

So what do you guys think? How many runs to MC are too many?

So after our triumphant kill of Majordomo last night Hurtu DC’d and had to sit in the queue to get back in. 45 minutes. Hopefully he got the Core Forged Greaves from Majordomo’s chest when he finally came back in.

The raid members had a blow-out over FR gear and how much we need to do Rags so the whole thing was postponed. Not to mention our MT was DC’d. (Damn Blizz and their free trial anyway.) Which I think is dumb. We’ll never learn how to take him down, where to stand, etc. if we don’t try. If we keep this up I’m going to try to go with Clan Meteoris or some other highend guild to BWL. We’re so damn hung up on the FR gear that we can’t move on. Our minimum requirement for everyone is 150 and 300 for tanks and tank healers. Ok fine, so one of the people has 148 and was like “I’m not gonna go cause I don’t have 150.” Grow up! The more we stay in MC, the more set pieces will drop and the better gear/buffs you will have. I have 161 with my mage armor so I feel I am ok. 95% of my stuff has FR so what do they want from me. Except my shoulders, trinkets and weapons I’m good. It’s sparked a huge debate AGAIN in our forums and I’m frankly tired of it.

I didn’t win anything other than a lava core last night but that’s ok. At least a mage finally won the Staff of Dominance. So far the locks have been the high-rollers.

Run down of the drops (No time right now to link them, but maybe I’ll come back later)

Lava Reaver
* [item]Cenarion Belt[/item] – Pagonos (81)

Shazzrah
* Tasm rolled for Daalny (who got DC’d. fuh!) and won with a 16. Happy Birthday Daal!!
* [item]Nightslayer Boots[/item] – Varlok has the stupid things but precedent has been set and everyone has them. So he won another pair for a new set of spurs.

Sulfuron Priest Add
* [item]Lawbringer Belt[/item] – Alahn (98)

Sulfuron
* [item]Giantstalker’s Epaulets [/item]- Gerty (71)
*[item] Robe of Volatile Power[/item] – Devliena (73)

Golemagg
* [item]Cenarion Vestments[/item] – Ryjaek (58)
* [item]Nightslayer Chestpiece[/item] – Varlok (99)
* [item]Staff of Dominance[/item] – Grianna (85)

Majordomo
* [item]Eye of Divinity[/item] – Xanthony (73)
* [item]Gloves of the Hypnotic Flame[/item] – Hazmatt (20)
* [item]Core Forged Greaves[/item] – Hurtu

….started last night. People were tired so we ended the evening after Baron. We had a hard time getting druids to go for some reason and only wound up with two and a f-ton of priests.

Babbaganoosh was loot master and for some reason when he is we have lots of crazy stuff drop. Right off the bat the Felheart Bracers dropped off from a Lava Annihilator, which went to the house since all our raid locks had them. On the next pull, a core hound, the [item]Gianstalker Bracers[/item] dropped and Kurosawa finally got his first set piece! Grats Kuro!!! Then a molten giant dropped the Felheart Bracers again, which went to the bank also. Not bad – 3 mobs = 3 drops.

You know you have a good group when you accidentally pull Luci and her minions while still fighting the pack of pups (ooops whoever stood too close) and STILL killed her.
* Tranc shot tome went to /random
* Bolicious won the [item]Arcanist Boots[/item] with a 57. Woot!! Those haven’t dropped in awhile so glad to see Bo get something.
* Tasmpriest won the [item]Crimson Shocker[/item] with a 98. I think I had the worst roll ever – a 1.

55 minutes and 22 seconds later we arrived at Magmadar.
* [item]Cenarion leggings[/item] were a breath away from being DE’d when Garand realized he didn’t have them. So default win for him.
* [item]Nightslayer pants[/item] went to Kugnar with a roll of 96.
* Quisver won the [item]Schematic: Core Marksman Rifle[/item] with a 81. He’s in the RBO (Red Bull Order) guild if anyone is interested in hunting him down and getting one.
* [item]Eskhander’s Right Claw[/item] also dropped and was /randomed on by the two people that have the Collar. Bahouth won it with a 41. Better than DEin’ it, even if he doesn’t use it.

It was a warlock night last night, let me tell you. A Lava Annihilator dropped the [item]Felheart Belt[/item] and Aveliana won it with a 76. That means next time it drops Babbaganoosh can roll since everyone will have their setpiece and he can replace his purple if he wants.

I busted out a mutiny before this fight. My poor bladder was killing me because we ran back so fast after the Mags fight that I didn’t have to time BIO it up. Since I’m the main decurser on our MT (Hurtu), it was easy to win that fight. Go me….lol.. Gehennas got me back though. I was on the top of his hate list, EVERY reign of fire he did was directed at me. Normally I get one or two but dang! Muridis, bless his little healing heart, kept me alive though and I only had to call out for a heal once. That is a huge accomplishment right there bc I define squishee.
* [item]Ring of Spell Power[/item] dropped and Babbaganoosh won with a 88. He didn’t quit cheering for like 5 minutes. ;)
* [item]Nightslayer Gloves[/item] went home with Mez and his roll of a 89.

Garr was a pain bc Static wasn’t there (wtf with his work sending him to Arizona. Hello…we have MC ;) ) and Burthona didn’t have the targeting mod installed. We used Hunters to target the mods and assigned Warlocks and Warriors that way. Very time consuming but we got it done.
* Suprise, suprise but a Felheart piece dropped. This time it was the [item]Felheart Horns[/item] which Candree won with a 64.
* Pandion won the [item]Giantstalker’s Helm[/item] with a roll of 89 and
* Kizvaar won the [item]Obsidian Edged Blade[/item] with a 87.

Burthona had to prove how uber her FR gear is by standing in Baron‘s fire and well, lived. So wooot! (I have 161 with Gift of the Wild. Not too bad)
* Check this roll out! The [item]Formula: Enchant Weapon – Spell Power[/item] dropped and I won! With a 99 too boot! Give me a shout out on the Blackhand server if you need it made.
* [item]Lawbringer Spaulders[/item] dropped and Smokinjoe won those with a 24 and
* Hexperiment won the [item]Seal of the Archmagus[/item] ring with a 97.

Congrats to everyone and good run folks. :D

On Wednesday night we did an all-night MC marathon in honor of Thanksgiving. Thanks to everyone that stuck it out! Since we normally run on Thursdays, the MC timer wasn’t up until 7:37p on Wednesday night, so we started later than we liked but at least it gave us time to get water to put out the flames.

Babbaganoosh was out in Azshara and saw Azuregoes was up still (he logged on earlier in the day to get the water and the dragon was up then), so he was our look out. We gathered up a crew, sent calls for people in guild and lmrbo chat and portaled our way to Darnassas. Of course we were too late because the 2 major Alliance guilds on Blackhand were already there. We haven’t figured out how they always seem to know Azuregoes is up. Sucky! We continued out there anyway in hopes that they would wipe and give us a shot. And Avanta Corda went first, got Azuregoes to around 10% and wiped, so Nephilium picked it up and took her down. Dang it! When is our turn?! At least it wasn’t a total loss since we could all get our MC water to put out the runes.

Since I already had 20 people together I finished putting the raid group together for MC. First time I ever got to play leader for that. Hurtu still had the Onyxia head from Monday (we had decided on Monday we’d wait to turn it in until MC) so we portaled to Stormwind and gathered in the front to watch the head go up. Poor Hurtu though! He went to the King and as he was about to turn the head in, someone else did :( And 2 Onyxia heads can’t be up at the same time. Not only did he not get the buff for some crazy reason but he didn’t get to turn in the head, so he didn’t get to get his quest reward either.

Buff in hand we busted ass to get to MC. No sense in wasting those cool stats. I gave Smokinjoe masterlooter, no way in hell I want to deal with that. I don’t want to accidentally give it away to someone else. And Smokin and Aveliana were going to run this raid group since Burthona was out of town for Thanksgiving and Babbaganoosh was going to be in NY, but a last minute change of plans kept him here. So Babba, Smokin and I led the group. Poor Aveliana had a hell of a time connecting and then had to drop before we even started. Cox cable was apparently doing something in her area and screwed up her lines.

We had an awesome run and go me and my awesome leader seed! Off the first fire mob the [item]Nightslayer Bracelets[/item] dropped and Varlok won with a 78. The raid group was worse than 5-year olds at Christmas though. Giddy could not describe how we were acting.

Lucifron
- The tranq shot tome went to /random again. Really wish that wasn’t BOP. We could put it in the alliance bank until someone could use it.
- [item]Lawbringer boots[/item]. Check this generosity out! Barrex won with a 97 but since Theseus (rolled a 28) was the only paly without purple boots he gave it to him.
- [item]Gauntlets of Might[/item] went to Druela with a 19. The only two warriors that didn’t have them, have existing purple gloves but since they were bought our raid loot rules don’t apply and they could roll.

Well after finishing off Shazzrah on Thursday we moved onto killing off Golemagg, Sulfuron and Ragnaros. The raid filled up quickly (even for a Sunday night) and we started the run early! Go us!

Loot was dropping left and right last night, which is cool. Every little bit helps ;)

The [item]Vambraces of Prophecy[/item] dropped off the first flameguard mob we pulled and went to Chriara. Shortly after that the Druid Belt dropped from a molten destroyer and Alyna won with a 97. Her first set peice I might add. From the same mob group that dropped the belt, the molten giant dropped the Blood of the Mountain which went to the house for warrior fire resist set pieces.

Golemagg dropped the [item]Breastplate of Might[/item] which Static won with a 97. High rolllers tonite! And Hexperiment won the [item]Arcanist Robe[/item] with a 62. Damn him, I rolled a 26; the only way I’ll ever win that is by default. And Mez won the Aged Core Leather Gloves.

Sulfuron is still kinda a hard boss for us. Some nights we work like clockwork and then others we cluster f**k our way through it. Clustering was the name of the game last night. We pulled through though! Delara won the Mantle of Prophecy. Our priests can quit complaining about their set peices not dropping. Hexperiment walked away with the Sorcerous Dagger with a 12. (It was his night last night) Most of us are holding our for the Staff of Dominance I think. Well, at least I am.

Two wipes later we killed Majordomo. (Note to others: have a healer on your mages otherwise the mages die, the healers they are sheeping pop and the raid gets screwed. Also have all of your mages stand in on area with their little sheep farm. That way if any shields proc they won’t pop our little sheep population.) Yes we know all that stuff and we patently ignored our own advice until the third try. And yes, it worked and we did it with ease. Everyone brought their “A game” to that try ;) Congrats to Lorick who finally won the Eye of Divinity with a 53. Hopefully you can get it done on the first try like Tasmpriest did. (See the Walkthroughs section for the writeup). The Corehound tooth with to /random because the rogues that were there already had their MC weapon. Punks. Kyjethu won with 100. And Alyna walked off with the Wild Growth Shoulders.

Burthona D/Ced after that, so we called the raid and put Rags off for another day.

We started our weekly MC run last night with a few new faces. Congrats to everyone that made it in. We did a kick-ass job, recovered from a few bad pulls, finished early and took down 5 bosses! Can’t forget the phizzat loot either. Not bad for one night’s work.

We made it to Lucifron is roughly 25 minutes which is a new record for the SnT alliance! Woot! Our goal is to eventually run MC all in one night and at this pace it might be possible. We’d have to do it on a weekend to account for time differences and school/work. Maybe over the winter holidays…. Anyway!

Good ol’ Luci dropped like a fly and gave us
1. [item]Tome of Tranqualizing Shot[/item]. Sad to say but we are at the point of /random 40 that for vendor trash. All of our hunters have it and we’ve even started cycling in lvl 60 hunter alts up until Luci so they have the shot too.
2. Carnilion won [item]Arcanist Boots[/item].
3. And the [item]Felheart Gloves[/item] went to Farkhat.

Magmadar
1. Mez won the [item]Nightslayer pants[/item].
2. Gery got the [item]Giantstalker’s Leggings[/item] and
3. Dosia won the [item]Fire Runed Grimoire[/item]

1. Set Master Looter to an Officer that is not running the raid.

2. When greens drop have the Master Looter do a /random 40 (or how ever many you have in there) and drop it into the winner’s bags. It removes the hassle of “did everyone roll?”, “who won?”, etc. Note: the /random 40 winner is based on how the ML has their CTMod/raid config setup.

3. When people sign-up to go have them pick their crafting item. ie. Fiery core, lava core. That way you only have x number of people rolling instead of 40. It also guarantees that more people can get loot since there is less numbers for them to roll against per item. We have it set that you can only win 1 crafting item per raid week.

4. Give the ML assist so they can announce drops in /rs and /ra.

5. Use Loothog mod to tell who the winner is.

6. Have the ML be the announcer for everything but the pulling. Create macros to make it easier to announce.
