Our new raiding schedule is Thursday nights Onyxia then MC to kill Lucifron and Magmadar. The rest of MC is reserved for Sunday night, IMO I think that run is too long since we are now including Rags in it but we’ll see. Monday nights are now devoted to BWL. WOOT!
Onyxia took forever to get the group put together. People had a rough time logging in and once in would drop sporadically for no reason. CT Mod was still giving others fits and then we had people drop in favor of others because they already had their Tier 2 helm. Suffice it to say I could have read a book in the time it took the raid to be put together. It’s no-ones fault it just seems like this particular run in jinxed.
We finally got all settled and kicked butt once we got in there. Garand won the [item]Ancient Cornerstone Grimoire[/item] with a 92, Pandion won the [item]Dragonstalker’s Helm[/item] with a 95 and Mynn won the [item]Helm of Wrath[/item] with a 79. About time the warrior helm dropped! Babbaganoosh won the [item]Onyxia Hide Backpack[/item] with a 99 (my roll was a measley 6), and Theseus won the [item]Head of Onyxia[/item] with a 96 (this time my roll was a 8 ). Alahn had the [item]Codex: Prayer of Fortitude[/item] foisted off on him, and Carnilion won the [item]Cow King’s Hide[/item] from the LM /random 40. Finally, Varlok actually got an upgrade in the [item]Heartseeking Crossbow[/item].
A quick portal, repair and a bird flight later we were at MC.
One of the first Core hound’s yielded the [item]Nightslayer Bracelets[/item] that Deflickshew won with a 16. Gotta love when that happens
Lucifron dropped the usual Tranq shot Tome. Make it BOE would ya Blizz? Ahnvil won the [item]Lawbringer Boots[/item] with a 42 and Burthona won a greed roll on the [item]Flamewalker Legplates[/item] with a 99.
Magmadar dropped the [item]Lawbringer Legplates[/item] for Theseus to win with a 56, the [item]Talisman of Ephermal Power[/item] for Gwadraw’s roll of 91 and the [item]Felheart Pants[/item] that went to Devliana and his 91.
Overall not a bad run but I wish we took a little longer in MC to not make Sunday’s run soo long. Grats everyone!

The other night Muridis was bored so he grabbed Babba and Mynn for a quick DM run and asked where I was at. I was equally as bored but had closeted myself with a book in the guest room for a chance of pace. A quick yell down the hall from Babba brought me out to sign on for a quick run. 300 in the queue later I managed to get into the game and headed out to DM.
We killed Tendris Warpwood and he dropped the [item]Tanglemoss Leggings[/item] (I won) on our way to kill Magister Kalendris in hopes that he’ll drop that [item]mindtap talisman[/item] again. He mind controlled Mynn and sent him after Babba, so I ran over to freeze evil Mynn in place and promptly got 2-shotted and died. Babba lasted a little longer before he croaked. Kalendris was down to ~ 30% and then Mynn died. Poor Muridis tried his best but he also bit the dust. We didn’t have a soulstone up so we all ran back. This time we killed him and he dropped the [item]Amplifying Cloak[/item] again. Bummer.
Immol’thar was next on the list so we headed that way. He dropped the [item]Bile etched Spaulders[/item] and [item]Odious Greaves[/item], none of which any of us could use. So we took the two highest rolls for a DE.
We then headed to the library to kill the Prince, which was an easy fight. You can’t really tank him you just have to DPS him down ASAP. The [item]Bracers of the Eclipse[/item] and the [item]Eldritch Reinforced Legplates[/item] dropped. Mynn was hoping the legplates would drop since they are good for PvP so of course we gave those to him.
We called it a night after that and portaled to IF.
We gathered together at the front of MC and slashed and burned our way through to Majordomo like little school children on a field trip. Giddy doesn’t describe the atmosphere. We had a few new faces that didn’t run with us on Sunday and one extra mage (I’m glad Bolicious could make it) so life was good.
It’s wierd being in MC knowing that 99% of the bosses are dead and we’re on our way to the last one. Two seperate flameguards bowed before us and dropped the [item]Cenarion Bracers[/item] for Moonwinna and her roll of 58 and Smokinjoe won by default (thank god since he rolled a 1) a shiney new belt, otherwise known as the [item]Lawbringer Belt[/item].
There is a bit more excitement taking down Majordomo now since the polymorphed (sheeped) adds now have a tendancy to wander further since the patch. Gee thanx Blizz. Trubben was having connection issues so Carnilion was his backup sheeper and off we went on our killing spree. My only complaint is when you take the adds down to 42% and yell “new target” have the person we are targetting through have the new target already selected. I only have one assist macro button and it is assigned to the MT/MA of the group. Could I change it for this fight? Yea, but do I want to? No.
A quick portal to SW to grab mats, gear and turn in the [item]Head of Onyxia[/item] that Bahouth won on Thursday (but there was one up already), and we were off again for MC.
A hop, skip and some group rearrangements later and we fighting Ragnaros. With the warning that Tasm only had 30 minutes before he and his wife headed to dinner we got down to some serious action. My group had Garand’s Moonkin buff and Tasmpriest as our healer so we were set to do some damage and get some kick-ass heals.
I assigned the mages their position in the Frost Nova order for the Sons of Flame, which basically means they do a /rs and call the next person in line and whisper that same person telling them they are up next. Dworkinn agreed to call out if any of the mages died and the next in line but thankfully that didn’t happen. We wait 5 seconds between each Frost Nova and AOE Blizzard the Sons while waiting for our turn.
The Macro I use:
/cast Frost Nova(Rank 4)
/rs Nova cast — PLAYER’S NAME you’re up
/w PLAYER’S NAME Nova cast – it’s all you
Another group, specifically Farkhat, kept standing on-top or too close to me so I got blown around a bit, but I had my bandages so I just ran behind the wall, bandaged and headed back to battle. I kept moving my position but apparently I am a good person to stand near because it kept occuring, even with people shouting in vent – “2 lengths between you” and “don’t stand on-top of other players”. Just think of it like the Onyxia fight – you can’t get too close or we all die. It really is very simple.
My main spells I used were: Presence of Mind, FrostBolt, Mana Shield, and Fire Ward.
Pots/Buffs used: [item]Greater Arcane Elixir[/item] (thanks Redcross), the [item]Mistletoe[/item] Buff that gives an additional 20 spirit buff, [item]Fire Protection Potion[/item], [item]Elixir of Minor Fortitude[/item], [item]Elixir of Defense[/item], [item]Lung Juice Cocktail[/item], [item]Wizard Oil[/item] on my staff, a camp fire, and a couple [item]Major Healing Potion[/item]s.
Phat Loot That Dropped:
* [item]Band of Accuria[/item] – Kurosawa with a 74
* [item]Bloodfang Pants[/item] – Chuckers with a 77
* [item]Dragonstalker’s Legguards[/item] – Pandion won with a 39
* [item]Choker of the Fire Lord[/item] – Alyna took that home with a 85
* [item]Uther’s Strength[/item] – Babbaganoosh won with a 99. Congrats honi! I’ve heard it great for PvP.
* [item]Windrunner Legguards[/item] – /random 40
Ragnaros Movie by AmbianceForce: Ragnaros Video I know Static also took video of the fight but he hasn’t posted it yet.

We ended our raid early on Thursday night and stopped after Magmadar so we had a few more bosses to clear than normal tonite. We tried to go to SW and turn in the Onyxia head but someone else had already done so. We were a bit disappointed but it certainly isn’t the end of the world.
Almost immediately we started getting drops so boo-yah! A molten destroyer dropped the [item]Giantstalker’s Bracers[/item] which went to Garand for trading with other guilds. (BTW if you have Tier 1 BOE set pieces and are on the Blackhand server, visit our forums and PM Garand. We might have something you need and vice versa.)
Ok so anywho…. Gehennas was the first to die and yielded the [item]Gloves of Prophecy[/item] which went to greed roll and Daalny won that. The [item]Wristguards of Stability[/item] also went to greed roll and Trubben won that. Both items were DE’d for a nexus crystal by Funktea. Woot.
Garr was a bit of a pain since the Garr Mod wasn’t working (due to the 1.9 patch) and we had to rely on CT Mod. The CT Mod targetting system isn’t too terrible but when you aren’t used to it, it takes awhile to get everyone set up and targetting a mob that no-one else is. O well you live and learn. Smokinjoe won the [item]Flameguard Gauntlets[/item] with a 92. Next up was the [item]Giantstalker’s Helmet[/item] which went to a greed roll and was won by Kyjethu with a 95. Nexus crystal FTW. Finally the [item]Nightslayer Cover[/item] dropped and Wendra won by default (he rolled a 93 anyway…should have saved it man) and now has all 8 of his set pieces! YEA! That makes 3 alliance members – all LM – that have their sets.
A Lava Elemental dropped the [item]Nightslayer Belt[/item] which went to Garand for the trading bank. That makes two BOEs in one night to trade, so be sure to look us up if you need anything! (shameless plug for our tradeable loot)
Baron Geddon dropped the [item]Arcanist Mantle[/item] which Carnilion won with a 34 (woot that hasn’t dropped in awhile) and the [item]Lawbringer Spaulders[/item] that Alahn won with a 18.

Since the raid calendars have been turned topsy-turvy we took advantage and ran Onyxia again on Thursday night. And followed that up with a quick dash to MC to kill Lucifron and Magmadar. The rest of the MC run will finish on Sunday and we will try our hand at BWL on Monday.
Phat loot netted from Onyxia
* [item]Mature Black Dragon Sinew[/item] – Schnitzel. Happy Hunting with your Hunter quest.
* [item]Head of Onyxia[/item] – Bahouth with a 83
* [item]Elven Spirit Claws[/item] – random /40 by the master looter
* [item]Deathbringer[/item] was first offered to the warriors and they all passed. It was opened up for a greed roll to all parties that could use it and Burthona won with a 98.
* Aveliana won the [item]Ring of Binding[/item] with a high-roll of 99.
* [item]Halo of Transcendence[/item] went to Tasmpriest with his roll of 97. I think very few of our priests don’t have their tier 2 headpiece now, which is a great thing in my book!
* Smokinjoe won the [item]Judgement Crown[/item] with a mediocre 50. BUT he won it!
* Ahnvil was on the quest chain for his pally weapon and received the [item]Heated Ancient Blade[/item]. He quickly headed off to DM after the run and turned it in for the [item]Quel’Serrar[/item].
A quick portal to IF for repairs and off we headed to MC to kill Luci and Mags.
We made it to Lucifron in 22 minutes (a new record for the alliance) and received the [item]Gauntlets of Might[/item] (Mynn with a 4) and Carnilion won the [item]Choker of Enlightenment[/item] with a 88.
44 minutes later we had Magmadar dead at our feet and were passing out loot. Mynn won again, this time the [item]Quick Strike Ring[/item] with a 99. It was warrior night for loot because the [item]Medallion of Steadfast Might[/item] dropped next and Burthona won with a 97. Our last piece of loot, the [item]Striker’s Mark[/item] went to greed roll and Mez won with a 100.
Congrats everyone!
Sidenote: we did the run this way because we had the opportunity to pull Onyxia again. Hopefully we won’t do this again in the future because it reduced the amount of core leather, etc. that we would normally get on a Thursday run. Not to mention it makes the Sunday run that much longer since we have 2-3 extra bosses to kill that are normally already dead.

Funktea ran Babbaganooosh’s alt priest (Babba) thru Gnomergan last night and pickup up a TON of silk cloth. We were going to leave it on the bodies when I remembered the war effort and decided we should turn it in for that. WooT!
However, no one is yet able to enter the AQ instance, as there’s a special world event needed to open the gates on each server. This became clear while roaming through Ironforge (on the Alliance side), as a new group of NPCs roam the Military Ward collecting various materials for the war. Bandages, herbs, cooking items and metal bars are all being collected, with serverwide quotas for each (the Alliance, for example, collectively needs to turn in 90,000 copper bars). Players recieve small rewards for turn-ins as well as a small commendation, and a Horde NPC resides in the Military Ward to keep players apprised of how close the opposite faction is to meeting their quotas. Assumedly, once all the war effort quotas are met, the world event to open the gates will be one step closer to happening.
Located in the military ward of IF are lots of new NPCs that you turn your items into for the alliance-side efforts to open the portal to AQ. I found the silk cloth nurse and started whipping them out. I made 166 bandages for the first round of donating – all from the Gnomer trip. And boy do people think smelting takes awhile. Each time you turn in a stack of 20 bandages you receive a box (that contains a green and a scroll spell) and tokens to up faction or get nifty things. These are both low level but the greens are great to DE and I sent all the spells to Babba to use.
Since I ended up with an odd number, I bought some silk on the AH for a 1g BO for 20 to round my numbers off and headed back for more donating. All told I donated around 275-300. Not bad at all!
You can also turn in runecloth bandages but I save the runecloth to make bags, etc.
On the Blackhand server the guys from Fight have made a nice little table that they’re updating daily:

Static wanted to do a 5-man through DM to see if his purple book would drop. Babbaganoosh, Static, Funktea, Garand and Bolicious were our original members of the killing squad. Then Garand had a brilliant notition – we need rezzers. Bolicious bailed in favor of a priest for us and Muridis came along instead.
We worked our way through DM North slashing and killing as we went. The [item]Ogre Pocket Knife[/item] dropped and Garand won that with a 72. Next the Guard dropped [item]Hyena Hide Belt[/item] and Garand won again with a 92. I love small raids! You can actually win stuff and get to loot bodies, unlike MC
Knot Thimblejack’s chest rewarded us with a cool pattern – [item]Pattern: Inferno Gloves[/item] which I won and some ogre tannin (I thought you could only get it from the basket….). Captain Kromcrush dropped the [item]Monstrous glaive[/item] and I won again with a roll of 89.
Why do my dice always work best when outside of MC? Does anyone else have this problem? Does the fire in MC place some voodoo spell on your dice or something?
King Gordok and his little Observer friend yielded in defeat and died on the end of Static’s sword. They dropped the [item]Observer’s shield[/item], [item]Crown of the Ogre King[/item] and [item]Grimy metal boots[/item]. We took the top 3 rolls and just picked something that we wanted. Garand (66), Muridis (48) and me (26) won. Static and Babba both rolled a 8. WTF? I had just DE’d the Crown earlier that day in hopes of a nexus crystal (large brilliant shard was my reward) so I swiped that back up. Ya never know when you might want to use it.
Bow to us you pansy’s we are king!
Garand mentioned us running over to DM West since we had the king buff and it would be easy to get there so off we went. We killed Tendris Warpwood and got the oooo so cool, [item]Stoneflower Staff[/item]. Does anything else ever drop? Muridis won and DE’d that. Busy little DE’er last night let me tell you. The big ugly tree fell and out came the spirit horse to wander about. So we jumped on the ledge and headed to the right to Magister Kalendris, which dropped the [item]Mindtap Talisman[/item]! Garand won that with a 47. Dang it I want it. Muridis won one on a run over this weekend so we’re slowly getting our healers hooked up with mana regen.
We sneaked past the roaming trees and out the DM West entrance and disbanded for another shot at the Talisman. Tendris Warpwood gave us [item]Warpwood binding[/item] this time which Muridis won again with a 64. I think the kid has a roll hack. Magister Kalendris wasn’t so forgiving though and only gave us an [item]Amplifying cloak[/item] for Babbaganoosh and his high roll of 65.
Mid way through DM West and our brief killing adventure, Bolicious came back on and asked if we wanted to go kill Dukes and Princes in Silithus. Ummmm YEAH! That cut short our third attempt at the Talisman but what the hell. There are other days

Wooot. We have enough alts, new 60s and some vets that the MC2 run proposed awhile back is going to occur. Good times of whiping, phat loot and killing ensue!
Good luck guys and feel free to give a holler if you need any mage tips. Once I get my Staff I might even go adventuring with them a couple of times.
If you are on the Blackhand server and have a level 60, feel free to sign-up on our forums. Keep in mind you may not get in but it is worth a shot!
Don’t forget to checkout our loot rules, raid requirements, etc. before signing up.
