Summer being in full swing it’s time for some college students to go out and find work. That means putting down the joystick or keyboard and entering the real world. Or does it? If you’re around Freemont California you can shack up with Dr. Hu and get a job playing World of Warcraft. The company is currently hiring players to provide their power leveling service. Posted on 2007 under General, Images/Screenies | No Comment17 Apr
Apparently one woman’s plea was answered as she has since posted a picture of her online character complete with flying mount.
Now if this headline doesn’t grab your attention I don’t know what will. Take a peek to see one person’s perspective, written up in InformationWeek, on online gaming.
Online games like World of Warcraft and Second Life are absolute dictatorships, where the whim of the companies controlling them is law. Cory Doctorow wonders if it’s possible to create a game that’s a democracy, where your in-world property is really yours. Read on…
World of Warcraft not immune to Pedophilia

Now this is something that never even occurred to me and I’m fairly suspicious of any way Peds can get to our kids. I feel sorry for the parents out there that are so far behind the times even this little bit of warning won’t get thru. Just goes to show how diligent we have to be and how f’ed up the #)$#(@#)@(#)$# nasty assh*les are.
Better check what guilds your kids join in the World of Warcraft. Abhorrent Taboo on the Ravenholdt server observes in the behavior of ERP (Erotic Role Play) and screen shots how admittance of the leader about he feels about minors. So far, no Blizzard Employee has made any comment about it. Do you feel safe having your child playing in this guild?
Not sure if I would want to do this but some people are addicted enough and don’t have the cash flow.
From the original poster: Private and easy to set up. Instructions on the page. No more 15 bux a month!
Holy Moly! WoW is becoming mainstream to the point of entering the world of professional online sports, with Quake 4, Counter Strike & Guitar Hero.
Women who plays World of Warcraft prostitutes for epic flying mount gold!
Posted on 2007 under Burning Crusade, General | No Comment9 Apr
With the release of The Burning Crusades, players have been forced to do monthly grinds or buy from illegal gold selling sites for a rare flying mount, one of the most expensive items in World of Warcraft. This may be the most desperate attempt to attain that goal ever. (Maybe NSFW.)
Slashdot is reporting on an issue with Linux users being banned from the game due to some security matter…
“Many Cedega (formerly WINEX) users claim to have been mistakenly caught up in a security sweep of the U.S. game servers performed by Blizzard’s World of Warcraft Game Master (GM) staff. Affected users received the same strongly-worded ‘Notice of Account Closure’ email messages that true bot users did, in which they were accused of the ‘Use of Third Party Automation Software.’ While diagnosis of this event continues early speculation points to Blizzard’s use of the Warden anti-cheating spyware application that is bundled with World of Warcraft, and the odd things that may have been produced by it when it was run via Cedega. Emails to World of Warcraft’s Account Administration staff continue to go unanswered while the list of affected people continues to grow.”
Thanks
OOOPS!
