Out there in RL a WoW player has been able to lose weight while playing his favorite game.
Playing World of Warcraft can cause you to lose weight without having to move from your computer, a gamer has claimed.
According to Joystiq, one of its readers, Greg, managed to lose 41lbs - nearly 3 stones - from his 274-pound frame in just three months.
Of course it was not just playing the game. Greg strapped his keyboard onto the display of his exercise bike and installed a side table to operate his mouse.
He hung his 46-inch Samsung LCD to hold his attention, using WoW from his XPS Gen 2 laptop to stop him getting bored while he biked.
Dubbing his method ‘warbiking’ Greg was able to do 100 hours of cardio biking which would have meant him dropping dead of boredom if he had not had his favourite game beside him.
Of course real biking never seems to have occurred to him because that would meant going outside, a place which is only a fable to most WoW players, despite having better graphics.
Filenuts.com has added a bunch of Burning Crusade movies to their FN.WoW section. Make sure to check out the “Beta Burning Crusade Bomb Run” and see the damage you can output on your flying mount! Some other cool ones include the new mage elemental pet and the logon screen (completely changed).

In an extremely interesting article Pro-G has broken down the variants of the two new kids on the block - Dranei and the Blood Elves. It’s a good factual breakdown about the races and tidbits about leveling them from the ground-up.
So far, most beta players have opted for the high level rewards of Outland over starting a new character. But this isn’t to the detriment of TBC’s two new races, the manga-esque Blood Elves and the big blue aliens the Draenei - both have aspects that have drawn concern from the typically vocal WoW fan base, but overall are shaping up nicely.

Here we go folks… We are excited to bring you a series of sweepstakes drawings that could land your butt in the The Burning Crusade Closed Beta. We were originally going to run some form of “contest” like every other site has done, or will do. But I felt that was too limiting for the very large, and diverse, WoW community. I wanted something that will give everyone an equal chance at winning. So, we have a standard random drawing sweepstakes set up for the community to do just that. Just fill out the form and hit submit — that’s it! We will most likely pull 10 names every few days and announce them to keep this thing going for at least 2 weeks (with 90 chances to win this round!).

Latest update from Blizzard - re: database maintenance work…
In our continued plans to upgrade hardware for all of our realms for the upcoming expansion, we are conducting another phase of database maintenance. We will be migrating data onto a new database storage solution which will comprise the majority of this extended maintenance. Please check the general forums for the list of realms which will be affected. Thanks for your patience as we work to improve the service and stability of the game.
