A few notes of interest from the Blizzard camp in the past 24 hours:Blizz on Enchants…

We are planning on placing restrictions on future enchanting recipes; however placing those restrictions on current enchantments would mean either grandfathering them in (making the current players who have them god-like for any future players) or removing them from everyone’s weapons. I can already anticipate the shrill screams to do the latter, but in this case it’s already something that is going to be dealt with in the battleground matching system. We would also be costing many characters hundreds if not thousands of gold each, and such a removal would probably require all realms to be brought down for at least a day. Neither of which we are really excited about doing, especially with a way to parse players out by what enchantments they may or may not have into various battleground games coming soon.

Blizz on Legendary Items…

The devs would like to improve on Legendary items through addition or revision. At this point, adding Artifact items is somewhat unnecessary, as it would only mostly serve to devalue Legendary items as a whole.

Perhaps when the level cap gets a little higher and that next step in itemization is needed.

Blizz on Battlegrounds, PuGs and matching organised groups…

The next planned content patch will contain a matching system for the battlegrounds that will attempt to pair up groups based on various factors, including organization. We fully expect it to help in the majority of games, but your opposition is not always guaranteed. I do think with the changes to the honor system the entire process will become a bit less stressful as far as winning/losing and the factors that contribute.
