Drysc has posted the racial abilities of the two new Burning Crusade races that where originally showcased at E3.

Blood Elves

Arcane Affinity
Racial Passive
Enchanting skill increased by 15.

Magic Resistance
Racial Passive
All resistances increased by 5.

Mana Tap
30 yd range – 30 sec cooldown
Drains 50 mana from your target and charges you with Arcane energy for 10 min. This effect stacks up to 3 times.

Arcane Torrent
Instant – 2 min cooldown
Silence all enemies within 8 yards for 2 sec. In addition, you gain 5 Rage/12 Mana/20 Energy for each charge of Mana Tap currently affecting you.
The above Mana value is indicative of a level 1 character as Mana values for this ability will scale with level.

Draenei

Gemcutting
Racial Passive
Jewelcrafting skill increased by 15.

Shadow Resistance
Racial Passive
Shadow Resistance increased by 10.

Heroic Presence
Racial Passive
Increases chance to hit by 1% for all party members within 30 yards.

Blessing of the Naaru
40 yd range
1.5 sec cast – 3 min cooldown
Heals the target of 50 damage over 15 sec.
The above Heal value is indicative of a level 1 character as value will scale with level.

What will happen when two vastly different virtual worlds bridge the gap between them? Better yet what will happen to the monthly fee we already pay?!

A very interesting project that is currently in the planning stages is a proposed link between the two immensely popular and successful virtual worlds, World of Warcraft and Second Life!

SL and WoW respectively represent the state of the art in the narrative and non-narrative, game and non-game metaverse, but their cultures, aims, and the experiences they provide are dramatically different. WoW players often dis on SL users (“Oh, it’s just a boring social world”), and vice versa (“You can’t *do* anything in WoW”), perhaps based partly on a lack of understanding and shared experience. Some people say WoW is prototyping the future of work and some people say Second Life represents the future of the Internet. Obviously something important is happening with each.

Enter SLoW. A first attempt towards uniting both ends of the virtual world spectrum by providing a temporary bridge (or at least a window) between them.

Tigole tells us of a couple planned changes…

We’re going to be making two new upcoming changes to instances in Patch 1.11:

–First, by popular demand, we’ll be removing the release timer in instances. This includes dungeons, battlegrounds and raid instances.

–Second, we’re going to have to institute an anti-exploit measure on certain encounters. Certain encounters (almost entirely raid bosses) will prevent people from zoning into the instance while that encounter is engaged. If you attempt to zone into the instance while that encounter is engaged, you will be resurrected at the entrance (outside). We will be making adjustments to the entrances to Molten Core and Blackwing Lair to compensate for this. Combat resurrections, soulstones, reincarnate etc. will still work fine. This is primarily to combat graveyard rushing in instances. Again, this will only be on a few select encounters, almost entirely limited to raid bosses.

We’re happy to announce the opening of two new realms: Demon Soul and Jaedenar, two PvP realms. These realms are located on our latest World of Warcraft site, which feature all new hardware. This will provide an opportunity, to new and old players alike, to begin fresh adventures in Azeroth!

I apologize to all of you for my spotty updating recently. Shortly after I found out I was 5 months pregnant I went in for my ultrasound and discovered that my cervix is not up to par. Because of this I have been placed on bedrest and can only sit to use my computer for an hour a day As soon as my new coffee table arrives my rig will be moved to the living room and I will be able to surf from the couch – and update this more frequently. Hopefully this will be soon.
