Third Party Program Enforcement

Oh no! Here come the Blizzard mod police! Check out what they have to say below:

rysc wanted to get this message out to the community in regards to mod making. As World of Warcraft has progressed we have found it necessary to take specific and appropriate measures to ensure the safety of our game, and our intentions with the content. Recent concerns have been expressed over bannings from use of third party programs and how that may relate to UI or macro use. These external third party programs differ from UI and macros as they provide functionality or enhancements beyond what is available in the game, UI, or macro abilities. Due to the UI and macro restrictions and our ability to control the use of functions within each, you will not be banned for any use of a pure UI addon or macro that wholly runs within the confines of the game.

Use of a third party program that works to allow unintended abilities or functions within the game poses a serious threat to your account and characters. More information on third party programs and hacks can be found on our support site here.

If your account has been banned from World of Warcraft for any reason
you may contact our Account Administration team at
wowaccountadmin@blizzard.com if you wish to discuss the restriction
further.
