In keeping with Blizzard’s aggressive stance against cheating in World of Warcraft, we have since the release of patch 1.10 banned over 3100 accounts for participating in activities that violate the game’s Terms of Use, including using third-party programs to farm gold and items. Such actions can severely impact the economy of a realm and the overall enjoyment of its players. Please note that selling World of Warcraft content such as gold, items, and characters can result in a permanent ban of the accounts involved, from World of Warcraft.

We will continue to aggressively monitor all World of Warcraft realms in Europe in order to protect the service and its players from players who seek to cheat. Many account closures come as the direct result of reports to our Game Masters in-game or emailed to hacks@blizzard.com by legitimate World of Warcraft players. If you suspect that a World of Warcraft player is using an illegal third-party program to farm gold or items, or is otherwise violating our Terms of Use, please report the suspected infraction via one of the means listed above. All reports will be investigated and those which prove false will not result in any action against the accounts reported.

The Cenarion Circle reputations page has been updated to include a few crafting recipes that will appear in the next content patch. These items, offering a great deal of nature resistance to help players with Ahn’Qiraj, will become available as players improve their reputation with the Cenarian Circle. New recipes included on the page are as follows:

Sylvan Recipes - Tailoring
Ironvine Recipes - Blacksmithing

It’s important to note that Bramblewood recipes will be available to leatherworkers from the the vendor in Southwind Village when the patch is released, and will also provide a substantial amount of nature resistance for players venturing passed the gates of Ahn’Qiraj. For several months now we’ve researched potential authentication upgrades and evaluated how those system changes could be implemented with minimal impact on our service. We recently decided on a specific authentication solution and are currently taking the necessary steps to implement the associated hardware and software. The new platform should help alleviate the login issues that players have experienced, including both forum- and game-login processes.

Additional information on our new authentication platform, as well as an ETA on when the installation of the platform will be finalized, will be provided next week.

Eyonix tells us that they are re-evaluating the mechanics of consumable items:

We’re actually in the process of re-evaluating the mechanics of consumable items in the game so that they work in a more intuitive manner. The goal during this evaluation as it applies to most non-equipable items with right-click abilities is to streamline them into an associated category. The outcome should allow an item of a particular category to only trigger the shared cooldown of all other items in the same category.

Specific details of this improvement will follow after we’ve concluded our design efforts.

This just in:

We are aware that accounts that renewed around April 20th and 21st were not charged and players cannot get into the game.

We have a workaround for the problem. It requires you to “refresh” your payment options by placing it in the system again. Note that you will not get double-charged. To do this, please follow the instructions:

# Go to Account Management and log onto the account: https://www.worldofwarcraft.com/account
# Click on Change Payment Meth. on the top-right corner of the site.
# Ignore the current payment section box. Click on the appropriate credit card option and click Continue.
# Select the appropriate subscription and enter in your current credit card information. Click Finish to continue.

The new credit card data should update the account to active and your card will attempt to process the subscription plan chosen. You should be able to log onto the game.

Blizzard announced a few changes that have occured to bosses in the AQ instance the other day. If you are currently working through the AQ instance these changes could be significant for you.

Ouro has been hotfixed so his Quake effects deal significantly less damage.

We have also hotfixed the following changes to the C’thun encounter in Ahn’Qiraj:
- Lowered the hit points of both Giant Claw Tentacles and Giant Eye Tentacles.
- Decreased the damage caused by Ground Rupture, and made the effect resistable.
- Significantly decreased the melee damage done by Giant Eye Tentacles.

In the 1.10.1 patch, we also changed the way that C’thun identifies who is in his stomach. The faction changing debuff that was previously applied will no longer appear, but C’thun’s tentacles should not spawn in the stomach, nor should a player in the stomach be the target of C’thun’s Eye Beam.

The combination of these changes should give players more time to damage C’thun instead of dealing with tentacles, and see fewer “unavoidable, random” deaths occur due to Ground Rupture effects.

I wanted to create a post to provide some additional information regarding rogue-specific issues that players have reported since the release of 1.10. I want to thank Bluur for his bug thread, it has provided a place for many players to view common issues, as well as report their own. I do want to reiterate that the Bug Report forum is the proper avenue for bug reporting; however the thread being placed here has gone a different direction, to help other players see that they are not alone on an issue they may be experiencing. I do appreciate the work being put into such a thread, not only from Bluur, but from everyone reporting the issues they are seeing.

Let’s get down to brass tacks.

The issue many of you are discussing, Seal Fate and the lack of an additional combo point during specific critical strikes, is being fixed in an upcoming patch. We are aware of the urgency this issue has for many players and we are doing our best to ensure it is resolved as soon as possible.

In addition to the above issue, the delay in combo point addition from talents is also seeing some attention in an upcoming patch.

We are investigating multiple issues with Vanish that have been reported, one such issue with Vanish that is also being resolved in an upcoming patch, immediately after using Vanish an in-process melee attack should no longer continue to strike, leaving the rogue in stealth.
