Paladins may want to avert their eyes for this one but it’s a hilarious article. This latest feature is appropriately titled The Cry of The Paladin and Pig says it has been motivated by “my growing lack of patience with the endless whining of paladins, the most overpowered crybabies in the game”. Ooooh! Controversial! Here’s a snip as a primer…

“High upon Mount Blizzard reside the three gods. They are known to us as Lord Pearce the Jovial, Lord Adham the Insightful, and Lord Morhaime the Rocker. Upon this holy mount the three deities of all of Azeroth dwell in peace and splendor. That is, until recently.

One day the three deities called to their presence their most trusted advisor, the archproducer Pardo, to discuss the upcoming changes to their universe. Pardo, duly summoned, arrived with charts, graphs, and piles and piles of documents. He sat down at the Holy Conference Table and discussed at great length the upcoming changes mandated by the omnipotent rulers of all of Azeroth. This took several hours. Near the conclusion of the meeting, Lord Pearce spoke to Pardo about a very familiar topic.”

Kill Shot Bot

A new site called Kill Shot Bot just went online yesterday. It shows a real live bot running. Part of the fun of the site is to see if you can find him on your server. If you can you then choose to kill him or protect him. If you score a kill on him and it’s captured ion a screenshot you’ll get your picture in the hall of fame. If you attack him though and he kills you. You then get your picture in the hall of shame. lol We will be putting up those two screenshots sections in the few days for the site after we’ve had a few kills.

Warlock Shard Bags

A lot of Warlocks don’t see the point behind Soul Shard bags. They take up a bag slot, like the Hunter’s Quiver, but don’t offer any sort of buffs, stats or enhancements! Tseric has responded to the outcry and has informed the community that adding special enhancements to these bags is definitely something the developers are thinking about for the future! Find the entire post here.

I must be behind the times or something. I found a text file of WoW easter eggs and started reading some of them off to Babba and he was like “o yea I know”.

For the rest of you as lost as I am (and I pity us both at times) here are a couple that I pulled out:

  • Name: Free Chicken
    Location: Chicken
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: If you go find a chicken, target it and use the /chicken emote at it. Eventually it’ll say “The chicken looks up at you curiously, maybe you should inspect it?”, if you right click on it it should give you a special quest for a free pet chicken. You’ll have to find an NPC that sells chicken feed. There is one particuarly in Westfall, the farm just south of Sentinel Hill, there’s an NPC who sells the chicken feed. After, go back to the chicken and use the /cheer emote on it, give it the feed and it’ll lay an egg. Click on the egg and it’ll turn into a chicken!
Note: I tested this and it takes a bit of patience to work right.

  • Name: Head Toss
    Location: Universal
    Coordinates: ?
Easter Egg: When idle for a while, various undead skeletons whil toss their head off, catch it and then stick it back on. A refrence to the old, “The Secret of Monkey Island” where an undead pirate captain had a first mate named “Bob” who’s head would launch into the air and land back on his neck.
Contributor: Vex of ? & Dervisch of Eredar
  • Name: Hail To The King
Location: Blackrock Depths?? or Blackfathom Depths?
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: If the Emperor in BRD??/BFD?? kills a player he shouts, “Hail To The King Baby!” This is a reference to the movie, Army of Darkness.
    Contributor: Setis & “Nick”
  • Name: Shapeshifting Prisoner
    Location: Undercity - Apothecary
    Coordinates: ?
Easter Egg: There’s a room with a bunch of prisoners in it near the Apothecary. Next to one of the cages is an alchemist who hands a potion to one of the prisoners. The man gets turned into a frog, squirrel, rabbit and a sheep. When he turns him into a sheep, he pokes it and the sheep explodes. A refrence to Warcraft II and III where if you clicked on Sheep and other critters enough, they would engluf in a fireball and explode!

  • Name: Fight Club
    Location: Undercity - Warrior Quarter
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: In the Warrior quarter of Undercity there’s a bunch of undead who fight various Scourge, with names similar to that of “Fight Club”.

    Contributor: Ikefu of Thunderhorn
  • Name: He’s Back
    Location: Westfall - Moonshire Inn
    Coordinates: N/A
Easter Egg: There’s a jar on the table in the inn with an arm in it that supposedly resembles Terminator 2 arm.

  • Name: Screaming
    Location: Duskwood - Darkshire
    Coordinates: N/A

[From Joystiq]

You cannot deny the almighty power of World of Warcraft - we have known for awhile now that the title is an unstoppable force with a population greater than Switzerland, but what is Blizzard’s secret to success? The Escapist, always a great read, features an article discussing the rise of WoW, reasons the game is so successful, and how the future and landscape of massively multiplayer online gaming has been affected by the title.

The article, written by N. Evan Van Zelfden is a great read for gaming enthusiasts. There is a wonderful quote at the end, from developer Gordon Walton, in which he pleas for takings risks and being creative with MMOGs, else the genre be “doomed to have this ever shrinking pool of hardcore, crazy customers who get the vision of what online can be.” How long must we wait for the next genre-revolutionizing title?

I read the first two pages of the article and it seems cool. Just don’t be like me and wonder how to get to the next page! Hidden down on the right side is a next/previous button. DUH!

Just finished running Molten Core as Bolicious instead of Funktea! He won the Ony head on Monday night’s run, and had to work tonite, so he asked if I’d take his mage through instead of mine. What the heck right? I have all my pieces so why not.
We ran a bit late on getting organized but Burthona had issues with his CTMod and finally had to ditch it altogether. 15 min late we started the run but still managed to kick-some butt and finished Shazzrah before 11pm.

It was interesting playing someone else’s character thou let me tell you. None of my buttons were there or anything else. Everyone made fun of me and said I was down in healer camp on the damage meter but screw them! I had fun and it made me contemplate switching to ice/arcane spec. But I’m really attached to my spec.

I’m tired so I’ll post the loot tomorrow.

I’m baaaaaccckkkk….

As usual we had a f-ton of druid and rogue stuff drop and, as usual, none of the Arcanist pieces dropped so I didn’t win Bo anything.

We had an off night last night and fumbled our way through the first part of MC. We had aggro pulls, multiple dog pulls when we weren’t ready, imps, imps and o! did I mention imps…

Lucifron

  • [item]Cenarion Boots[/item] - went to a greed roll for a nexus shard. Paganos and Hurtu tied on their first roll with 99s, so a re-roll ensued and Paganos won with a 59. Normally I hold the items for DE’in in 1.9 but since I was on Bolicious, Smokinjoe got them.
  • [item]Crimson Shocker[/item] - Saileen with a 97
  • [item]Plans: Elemental Sharpening Stone[/item] - Galvar with a 89
  • Tranq shot Tome - Galvar

Magmadar

  • [item]Medallion of Steadfast Might[/item] - Static with a 83
  • [item]Felheart Pants[/item] - Farkhat won with a 89
  • [item]Aged Core Leather Gloves[/item] - Deflickshew with a 65
  • [item]Schematic: Force Reactive Disk[/item] - Gwadraw won it with a 98

Some mighty interesting things dropped that normally don’t for us. Wonder if Blizz is shaking it up a bit or what the deal is. Is this happening for anyone else?

A quick portal to IF, repair, get some more coffee/BIO and off we went for round two.
Firelord

  • [item]>Nightslayer Belt[/item] - Deflickshew with a 1. WOOT - Nice roll

Gehennas

  • [item]Nightslayer Gloves[/item] - Deflickshew won by default. Nice night for him, huh?
  • [item]Wristguards of Stability[/item] - these are really for Feral Druids and Ryjaek wasn’t there so nexus crystal! Wendra won the roll with a 98 and it headed off to Smokin’s bags for 1.9

Garr

  • [item]Circlet of Prophecy[/item] - Chriara won with a 85
  • [item]Giantstalker’s Helm[/item] - nexus crystal. Poor Gerty didn’t get to go last night and this would have completed his set. But luckily we made room for someone so they could potentially get an ornage that will quest will get completed in about 2007. Galvar won the roll with a 96
  • [item]Obsidian Edged Blade[/item] - went one round with Jose Cuervo.. o wait .. and was on the way to a greed roll when Theseus stepped up to the plate and said he would use it and be glad of it too. Even manned up and said he would take it as his MC weapon instead of greeding it.

Baron Geddon

  • [item]Cenarion Spaulders[/item] - Moonwinna with a 41
  • [item]Seal of Archmagus[/item] - Alyna with a 98

Shazzrah

  • [item]Cenarion Gloves[/item] - Badfun with a 57
  • [item]Nightslayer Boots[/item] - Chuckers with a 66

We killed Shazz in 6-7 minutes and finished the run two minutes early. Congrats everyone! Cheers to one more step to completing your sets!

Theme Change

If you have eyes (and you must since you are reading this :) ), you’ve noticed I changed the theme. Now you are wondering why I’m sure. I loved the other one, don’t get me wrong, but *we* seemed to spend more time fighting with each other than anything…

So, I’m giving another theme a shot, and this one has the categories down the right hand-side to ease navigation. Enjoy!

[From WoW Insider]

Draenei PicGaming Steve has managed to get his hands on what appear to be scans from the February 2006 issue of Computer Games Magazine. The leaked information discusses the Burning Crusade expansion, and contains this crucial text:

“Alliance players will enjoy playing as Draenei, and the new Blood Elf race gives the Horde faction its first exercise in what humans perceive as sex appeal (even though those Troll females are pretty cute).”

While we’ve discussed the new race rumours before, this visitation of information from the mysterious future looks to confirm the most likely candidate as the new Alliance race, so it’s entirely believable. Sorry, Pandaren fans. We don’t have a copy of the magazine to confirm if the scans are real or not, so speculate away…

Mmmm……….
